After careful analysis of Library visitor numbers and usage, the Library will close at 5:00pm on Fridays beginning October 6. The Executive Director, staff and Library Board of Trustees analyzed multiple years of data and determined staffing resources are needed during other high traffic times of the week. The change was approved at the September 26 Board Meeting.
“The Library was understaffed at peak times during the day, and consistently underutilized on Friday evenings. We are reallocating staff resources to better meet the needs of our community,” said Library Board President, Katie Allan.
“The La Grange Public Library has a reputation of excellence in every interaction, and this adjustment will allow us to pursue new and innovative ways of providing services, programs and more,” said Executive Director, Jennifer Hovanec.
“The Library staff and I are encouraged by this change and look forward to spending more face time with our community.”
