Media on Demand Help

  1. You must have a strong Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G connection to download audiobooks and e-books.
  2. From the Google Play Store, download the free OverDrive Media Console app.
  3. Open the OverDrive Media Console app.
  4. Select SIGN UP to open an account (if you don't already have one.)
  5. You can sign up with Facebook or enter your name, email address and password. You will receive a confirmation email from Overdrive.
  6. When directed, swipe the screen to open the app.
  7. Select + Add a Library.
  8. Search for your home library and select it. Tap the star next to Media on Demand to save it, then tap Media on Demand again to open it.
  9. Select Sign In, then select your home library.
  10. Type in your library card barcode number and SWAN PIN number. If you do not know your SWAN PIN number, go to https://catalog.swanlibraries.net/patroninfo and select My Account, then click Forgot Your PIN?
MP3 Audiobooks, EPUB eBooks and Streaming Video
  1. In the OverDrive Media Console app, you may browse Audiobooks and EPUB books and movies, or search by title.
  2. When you have found a selection you wish to check out, select Borrow.
  3. Select Download.
 Kindle Books
  1. You will need to create an Amazon account if you do not have one already. Go to http://www.amazon.com and select "Hello. Sign in Your Account," then "New Customer? Start here."
  2. From the Google Play Store, download the free Kindle App. Sign in to your Amazon account on the Kindle App to register your mobile device to your Amazon account.
  3. Open the OverDrive Media Console app.
  4. Click Sign In, then select your home library from the drop-down list.
  5. Type in your library card barcode number and SWAN PIN number.
  6. You may browse eBook Nonfiction, eBook Fiction, browse by subject or search by title.
  7. When you have found a book you wish to check out, select Borrow.
  8. Select Download, then Select one format.
  9. Select Kindle Book, then Confirm & Download.
  10. Select Download (Kindle Book).
  11. You will now leave the Media on Demand webpage and proceed to http://www.amazon.com. Sign in to your personal Amazon account.
  12. Select Get library book. Under Deliver to, select [YOUR NAME’s] mobile device. You can repeat this process if you want to add the title to multiple devices.
  13. On your mobile device, open the Kindle App to read the title.


 
  1. You will need Wi-Fi access to download titles from Media on Demand.
  2. From the App Store, download the free OverDrive Media Console app.
  3. Open the OverDrive Media Console app.

Kindle Books

  10. Select Download (Kindle Book).
  11. You will now leave the Media on Demand webpage and proceed to http://www.amazon.com. Sign in to your personal Amazon account.
  12. Select Get library book. Under Deliver to, select [YOUR NAME’s] iPad. You can repeat this process if you want to add the title to multiple devices.
  13. On your iPad, open the Kindle App to read the title.


  1. You will need a computer, your Kindle, a USB cable and Internet access. You will need your email address and password for your personal Amazon account.
  2. On your computer, go to http://www.mediaondemand.org.
  3. Click Sign In, then select your home library from the drop-down list.
  4. Type in your library card barcode number and SWAN PIN number. If you do not know your SWAN PIN number, go to https://catalog.swanlibraries.net/patroninfo and select My Account, then click Forgot Your PIN?
  5. You may browse eBook Nonfiction, eBook Fiction, browse by subject or search by title. Select Available Now to view Kindle Books that are currently available (not checked out).
  6. Select Borrow.
  7. Select Download, then Select one format.
  8. Select Kindle Book, then Confirm & Download.
  9. Select Download (Kindle Book).
  10. You will now leave the Media on Demand webpage and proceed to http://www.amazon.com. Sign in to your personal Amazon account.
  11. Choose Get library book. Under Deliver to, select [YOUR NAME’s] Kindle. You can repeat this process if you want to add the title to multiple devices (smartphone, other Kindle, PC, etc.).
  12. If you have a non-Wi-Fi Kindle, you will need to connect your Kindle to your computer using the USB cable. If you have a Wi-Fi Kindle, the Wi-Fi must be turned on. You cannot use a 3G connection to download library books.

 
  1. You will need a Wi-Fi connection to download Media on Demand books using the Kindle Fire.
  2. From the Kindle Fire app store, download the free OverDrive Media Console app.
  3. Select SIGN UP to open an account (if you don't already have one.)

Kindle Books
 
  1. In the OverDrive Media Console app, you may browse eBook Nonfiction, eBook Fiction, browse by subject or search by title.
  2. When you have found a book you wish to check out, select Borrow.
  3. Select Download, then Confirm & Download.
  4. Select Download (Kindle Book).
  5. You will now leave the Media on Demand webpage and proceed to http://www.amazon.com. Sign in to your personal Amazon account.
  6. Select Get library book. Under Deliver to, select [YOUR NAME's] Kindle Fire. You can repeat this process if you want to add the title to multiple devices.
    
  1. You will need a computer, your e-reader, a USB cable and Internet access.
  2. You will need to create an Adobe account if you do not have one already.
  3. Go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click on Sign In, then Don’t Have an Adobe ID?
  4. Type in your email address and password, then click Create.
  5. Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ and click on Download now.
  6. Select Macintosh or Windows, depending on your device.
  7. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  8. Click on Help, then Authorize Computer.
  9. Enter your Adobe ID account information, then select Authorize. Your computer is now activated to your unique Adobe ID.
  10. Connect your eReader to your computer with the USB cable.
  11. Open Adobe Digital Editions on your computer.
  12. Your eReader now shows up under Devices.
  13. Click the gear icon, then select Authorize Device.
  14. Your Adobe ID should be highlighted, then select Authorize Device.
  15. Go to the Media on Demand website http://www.mediaondemand.org.
  16. Click Sign In, then select your home library from the drop-down list.
  17. Type in your library card barcode number and SWAN PIN number. If you do not know your SWAN PIN number, go to https://catalog.swanlibraries.net/patroninfo and select My Account, then click Forgot Your PIN?
  18. You may browse eBook Nonfiction, eBook Fiction, browse by subject or search by title. Select Available Now to view EPUB eBooks that are currently available (not checked out).
  19. Select Borrow.
  20. Select Download, then Confirm & Download.
  21. Select Download (EPUB eBook).
  22. Open Adobe Digital Editions. You will see your eReader under Devices.
  23. Click on the Adobe EPUB eBook you want to transfer to the eReader. Drag the eBook to the eReader icon. Click Continue.



 
  1. You will need an MP3 player, USB cable, and a computer with Internet access. PC users may transfer WMA and MP3 audiobooks to their MP3 player, while Mac users may only transfer MP3 audiobooks to their MP3 player.   2. On your computer, go to http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/ to download the OverDrive Media Console software.
  3. Go to http://www.mediaondemand.org.
  4. Click Sign In, then select your home library from the drop-down list.
  5. Type in your library card barcode number and SWAN PIN number. If you do not know your SWAN PIN number, go to https://catalog.swanlibraries.net/patroninfo and select My Account, then click Forgot Your PIN?
  6. Select Advanced Search and limit the Format to OverDrive WMA Audiobook or OverDrive MP3 Audiobook. You may select the box "Only show titles with copies available.”
  7. When you’ve found an audiobook you want to listen to, choose Add to Cart.
  8. When you are done selecting audiobooks, click Proceed to Checkout.
  9. Click Confirm Checkout, then Download.
  10. On your computer, open OverDrive Media Console.
  11. Connect your MP3 player to your computer using the USB cable.
  12. In OverDrive Media Console, select Transfer.
  13. Click Next, then OK.
  14. Click Next, then Finish to transfer the title to your MP3 player.
  15. You may browse Audiobook Fiction or Audiobook Nonfiction, or search by title
  16. Select an OverDrive MP3 Audiobook, then Borrow.
  17. Select Download (MP3 Audiobook).
  18. On your computer, open OverDrive Media Console.
  19. Connect your MP3 player to your computer using the USB cable.
  20. In OverDrive Media Console, select Transfer.
  21. Click Next, then OK.
  22. Click Next, then Finish to transfer the title to your MP3 player.


 
  1. You will need your Nook Color or Nook Tablet and Wi-Fi access.
  2. You will need to create an Adobe account if you do not have one already. Go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click on Sign In, then Don't Have an Adobe ID?
  3. Fill out the fields and click Create.
  4. From the Barnes & Noble app store, download the free OverDrive Media Console app.
  5. Open the OverDrive Media Console app
  6. Swipe the screen to open the app.
  7. Select + Add a Library.
  8. Search for your home library. Tap the star next to Media on Demand Public Library to save it, then tap again to open it.
  9. Select Sign In, then select your home library.
  10. Type in your library card barcode number and SWAN PIN number. If you do not know your SWAN PIN number, go to https://catalog.swanlibraries.net/patroninfo and select My Account, then click Forgot Your PIN?
  11. You may browse eBook Nonfiction, eBook Fiction, browse by subject or search by title.
  12. When you have found a book you wish to check out, select Borrow.
  13. Select Download, then Select one format.
  14. Select EPUB eBook, then Confirm & Download.
  15. You will be prompted to register your Nook to your Adobe ID.
  16. Select Download (EPUB eBook).

 


 

*Note: You  no longer need an Adobe account for most devices, if prompted for an Adobe ID, uninstall your app, and reinstall the new one.
