Get a Library Card

All residents of the Village of La Grange are entitled to a free La Grange Public Library card.

Adult Residents

Adult residents of the Village of La Grange may register for a new library card in-person at the Library or online. Expired cards may be renewed in-person only. When you register for a new card online, you will receive a temporary library card number that expires in 14 days. Use the temporary card number to place holds on items and access online resources. Visit the Library within 14 days to complete the registration process and receive a permanent library card number.

In order to receive or renew a permanent library card, you must bring a valid photo ID and one other current preprinted document with your name and La Grange address, such as a recent utility bill, preprinted check, lease or mortgage statement, or valid voter registration card.

Residents Under 18

Residents of the Village of La Grange under the age of 18 must visit the Library accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to register for a new library card or renew an expired card.

In order to receive or renew a permanent library card, your parent or legal guardian must bring a valid photo ID and one other current preprinted document with his or her name and La Grange address, such as a recent utility bill, preprinted check, lease or mortgage statement, or valid voter registration card.

Non-Residents

If you are not a resident of the Village of La Grange, you may purchase a non-resident library card in-person at the Library.

If you own property in the Village of La Grange but do not live in the Village, you may register for a free Business Owners/Managers and Property Owners library card in-person at the Library.
