Improve Your Driving in 2010!
 
The Library now offers the AARP Driver Safety Program to all adults.  This two-day safety course can help improve your driving skills and may qualify you for a discount on your car insurance. Classes will be held on March 16 and Wed., March 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $12 for AARP and $14 for nonmembers.Registration is required for the March Class.

Friends to Host Book Sale
on Saturday, March 13
 

On Saturday, March 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Friends of the La Grange Public Library (FOL) will hold a Mini Book Sale on the lower level of the library in the Dierkes Room. A bag sale will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Wide variety of books and other media:
  • Fiction and non-fiction for adults and children
  • Reference books
  • Magazines
  • VHS tapes, CDs, cassette tapes, books on tape
Several areas of interest: 
  • Best sellers
  • Cooking 
  • Mystery
  • Travel
  • Romance
  • Parenting
The money raised at the Mini Book Sale will be used by the FOL to support library programs and activities such as the children's summer reading program and The Big Read.

Can't make it to the sale? Be sure to support the FOL by stopping by the ongoing book sale on the first and second floors of the library.

Big Read Programs Begin in March 
Programs for The Big Read 2010 will begin the first week of March with programs at 10 area libraries. This year's book is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Request this popular book online or place a hold at any of the desks at the Library. The following programs will take place at the La Grange Public Library:
 
Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Dierkes Room
Art of the 1960s presented by art historian Jeff Mishur

Sassy Southern Cooking presented by chef Andrew Comens
