The Nest

The Nest

by Kenneth Oppel

A talking queen wasp encourages a young boy named Steve to help her “fix” his sick baby brother.   When Steve first talks to the queen he is relieved that someone is going to help his family.  But does the queen really have the baby’s best interest at heart?  This is strange tale of a young boy fighting to protect his family from scary forces.
Good for readers who also like Coraline by Neil Gaiman or A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.
